9 things I'm wishing for

Why 9? ...Because that's how many things I thought of and I didn't feel like coming up with one more to make it an even 10. Honesty!

I'm pretty sensible when it comes to shoes -- it sort of comes with the territory when you work in a library -- but I have been ogling these pretties since they debuted on BHLDN's original line. They would be the perfect bridal shower shoes, you know, if they weren't 340 freaking dollars.
Seriously, Matt and I need one of these STAT. We've just been using the top rack of the dishwasher, which we promptly close, forgetting about the dishes inside forever.

Do I even need to explain why I need this thing? EVERY GIRL NEEDS THIS THING.

I'd love this on the side of our fridge. I'm particularly keen on that mustard one!

I'm a little bit obsessed with Parsons desks in funky colors right now, but I cannot understand WHY 5 planks of lacquered wood are so expensive. This is $350. $350!!!!!!!

I'm quivering with desire at the sight of these. OMG. I don't know what I would do with all 8 of them, but I WANT THEM.

This weekend I did a Back to the Future I and II marathon with Matt, my BFF Lindsay and her new boy -- blog moniker in the works -- and at some point I was like "I wonder if there's a flux capacitor that you can like, put IN your car." We laughed about it and moved on with our lives, but guess what guys? IT EXISTS!

I'm so flipping excited that Ree has come out with another cookbook. Her recipes are foolproof and I can tell you with utmost certainty that her Marlboro Man steak sandwich, mini orange muffins, and whiskey bread pudding are the reasons that Matt fell in love with me. Right, Matt?

I'm always looking for ways to bring color into our white box apartment since we can't paint, and ever since I found this rug on West Elm I've been pining over it. ::sigh:: Rug love.

In conclusion, this post has made me realize that I'm starting to develop scarily expensive tastes. Whats happening to me??

  1. I can attest. Past a la Betsy and Marlboro Man's second favorite sandwich were partially responsible for nearly five years of love and happiness :-D

  2. My stupid dishwasher is slacking. It's getting old, time to replace it.

And YES, every girl needs a hairstyling station! Even though...I don't do much with my hair. -laughs-

    1. Haha, I hardly ever style it either but I somehow have way too many hair gadgets for my counter -- hair dryer, 2 straighteners, curling iron, a bunch of styling products, clips, hair bands. And it all ends up all over the place. It's crazy!

  3. I love that rug! I'm not usually a colourful kind of girl, but that one is perfect! Not too bright or obnoxious but still interesting.

I've been meaning to try a few of the Pioneer Woman's recipes, I think I'll have to get on that soon!

Also, my friend's dad is Bif from the Back to the Futures. It's awesome, but I can't really watch them anymore since I know him haha.

    1. What what WHAT?! Your friend's dad is Biff?? As a person who loved him in BOTH BTTF and Freaks and Geeks, I am floored right now. I can't even imagine what it'd be like if one of my friends' dad was a relatively famous person.

    1. OOOH, I really like the Saffron one too. I like all the Femmes ones better than the Hommes ones, actually, but you GOTTA have both, you know?

I use Picnik to edit and add text/shapes to my photos for now. I don't have Photoshop at the moment... I should probably get it ...maybe.

    1. I seriously dream about those pumps. I almost bought them at least twice before, but I chickened out because of the price. I'm patiently waiting for them to go on sale :P

    1. BAH. I'm not super tightfisted, but even I can't justify spending over $200 on a pair of shoes. Saaad faaace.

  8. You could totally make that desk yourself! Love the shoes and love the drying rack. We currently dry everything on a dish towel and it's not very effective.

    1. Ah yes, the dish towel drying method. I particularly hate drying glasses on a dish towel. The STEAM. Gah.

I *could* make the desk myself, couldn't I?? Hm....

    1. Matt had to force me to watch it! Not that I wasn't interested, I just wasn't motivated to sit down and pay attention. I'm so thankful he did because it seriously changed my life.
